OLYMPIC RINGS

The symbol of the Olympic Games is composed of five interlocking rings, colored blue, yellow, black, green, and red on a white field. This was originally designed in 1912 by Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the founder of the modern Olympic Games.

The Olympic flag contains five interconnected rings on a white background. The five rings symbolize the five significant continents and are interconnected to symbolize the friendship to be gained from these international competitions. The rings, from left to right, are blue, yellow, black, green, and red. The colors were chosen because at least one of them appeared on the flag of every country in the world. The Olympic flag was first flown during the 1920 Olympic Games.

The Olympic motto: Citius, Altius, Fortius(latin words) ::::::::("Swifter, Higher, Stronger").

The Olympic medals are designed especially for each individual Olympic Games by the host city's organizing committee. Each medal must be at least three millimeters thick and 60 millimeters in diameter. Also, the gold and silver Olympic medals must be made out of 92.5 percent silver, with the gold medal covered in six grams of gold.

Women were first allowed to participate in 1900 at the second modern Olympic Games.

The last olympic flag hosted in 2008,BEIJING officially known as 29 th olympiad games.

the next olympic flag will be held at LONDON  in 2012,OFFICIALLY KNOWN AS 30TH  OLYMPIC GAMES.

HOW GREAT LOVE IS :-)

Once upon a time there was an Island, where all the feelings lived; Happiness, Sadness and all the others including love.

One day it was announced to the feelings that the Island would sink, so all repaired their boats and left. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to persevere till the last possible moment. When the Island was sinking, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love, in a grand boat, Love said "Richness can you take me with you?"

Richness answered "no I can't." There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat and there is no place for you here.

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel, "Vanity please help me?"

I can't help you love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked for help, "Sadness let me go with you?"

"Oh......Love I am so sad I need to be by myself!" Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy she did not even hear when Love called her!

Suddenly there was a voice "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love felt so pleased and overjoyed that he even forgot to ask the elder her name.

When they arrived on dry land, the elder went her own way Love realizing how much he owed the elder asked Knowledge, another elder "Who helped me?"

"It was Time” Knowledge answered. "Time?" asked Love. But why did Time help me?" Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding How Great Love Is.

THE SECOND INDEPENDENCE STARTED IN INDIA AGAINST CORRUPTION

Kisan Bapat Baburao Hazare (born 15 January 1940), popularly known as Anna Hazare , is an Indian social activist.
Born January 15, 1940 (age 71)
Bhingar, Maharashtra, India
Parents Laxmibai Hazare(Mother)
Baburao Hazare (Father)

Anna Hazare started his career as a driver in the Indian Army. He spent his spare time reading the books of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi and Acharya Vinoba Bhave that inspired him to become a social worker and activist

After voluntary retirement from the army, Hazare came to Ralegan Siddhi village in 1975. Initially, he organized the youth of the village into an organization named the Tarun Mandal (Youth Association). He also helped forming the Pani Puravatha Mandals (Water Supply Associations) to ensure proper distribution of water.
As the next step towards social and economical change, Anna Hazare and the youth group decided to take up the issue of Alcoholism
Anna realized that the only way to increase agricultural production in a sustainable manner was to build better irrigation system.
He motivated the residents of the village into shramdan (voluntary labour) to build canals, small-scale check-dams and percolation tanks in the nearby hills for watershed development; efforts that solved the problem of scarcity of water in the village that also made irrigation possible.
Hazare also took steps to stop the second big problem, soil erosion. and also he fought again untouchability.

Awards - received by Anna Hazare
2008 - On April 15 2008, Anna Hazare received the World Bank's 2008 Jit Gill Memorial Award for Outstanding Public Service: "Hazare created a thriving model village in Ralegan Siddhi, in the impoverished Ahmednagar region of Maharashtra state, and championed the right to information and the fight against corruption."[25]
1992 - Padmabhushan award, by the Government of India
1990 - Padmashri award, by the Government of India
1986 - Indira Priyadarshini Vrikshamitra award by the Government of India on November 19, 1986 from the hands of Prime Minister of India Rajiv Gandhi.
1989 - Krishi Bhushana award by the Government of Maharashtra.

WHY HE STARTED FAST UNTO DEATH:

In 2011, Anna Hazare initiated a movement for passing a stronger anti-corruption Lokpal (ombudsman) bill in the Indian Parliament. As a part of this movement, N. Santosh Hegde, a former justice of the Supreme Court of India and Lokayukta of Karnataka, Prashant Bhushan, a senior lawyer in the Supreme Court along with the members of the India Against Corruption movement drafted an alternate bill, named as the Jan Lokpal Bill (People's Ombudsman Bill) with more stringent provisions and wider power to the Lokpal (Ombudsman)
Hazare has started a fast unto death from 5 April 2011 at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, to press for the demand to form a joint committee of the representatives of the Government and the civil society to draft a new bill with stronger penal actions and more independence to the Lokpal and Lokayuktas (Ombudsmen in the states), after his demand was rejected by the Prime Minister of India Manmohan Singh .
Before commencing his 'fast unto death' he stated, "I will fast until Jan Lokpal Bill is passed".

The great words from ANNA ji :
"The dream of India as a strong nation will not be realised without self-reliant, self-sufficient villages, this can be achieved only through social commitment & involvement of the common man."

The movement attracted attention very quickly through various media. It has been reported that thousands of people joined to support Hazare's effort. Almost 150 people are reported to join Hazare in his fast.
He said that he would not allow any politician to sit with him in this movement.
A number of social activists including Medha Patkar, Arvind Kejriwal and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi, Jayaprakash Narayan of the Lok Satta have lent their support to Hazare.
The movement gathered quite a significant amount of support from India's youth visible through the local support and on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter.

so friends i am ready to fight against  corruption ...and lets move and join our hands with anna hazare ji

STOP all violence against women

According to the 2011 census data, in the last decade alone, the child sex ratio has dipped from 927 to 914 per 1000, the lowest since independence.
The total population of children in general has dipped as well by 5 million.
Even though the sex ratio has improved for the adult population from 933 to 940 women per 1000 men, experts say, millions of women are still missing.
so many organizations and govt policies are there for protecting female rights.
But, that hasn't changed anything for the girl child who continues to be at risk.
The data reveals that in the age group 0-6 years, the gender ratio is 914 girls to 1000 boys. Which means that for every 1000 boys, there are at least 86 girls under the age of 6 who were killed before or after birth.
This is the lowest gender ratio recorded since India’s Independence in 1947.

It is very true about girl child. Even some ugly mothers throwing own infant girls in dustbins and they must be punished very severly with a new act.particularly doctors doing abortionts without any sympathy.

The words of baby infant girl ,who is going to death in few minutes:

“My parents detest daughters! They hate me so much that they kill me before birth. They kill me before my first breath. They kill me when i am suckling infants. They kill me before i  learn to walk. They kill me before learn to talk and say ‘maaa’ and ‘baba.’ They kill me before learn to smile and trust, and love, and ask for my favorite foods – mangoes or sweets. They kill me before to play with friends, relatives and listen to stories about fairies, princesses, and far away dreams from my grand parents ,Teachers.

you are in the world

Woman plays very prominent role in our life...without woman in our life there is no meaning of our life.

WILL INDIA REVENGE ON LANKA

India were the co-hosts of the 1996 Cricket World Cup along with Pakistan and Sri Lanka and were expected to perform well at home.

Sri Lanka won the first semi-final over India at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in front of a crowd unofficially estimated at 110 000. Chasing Sri Lanka's innings of 251 for 8, India had slumped to 120 for 8 in the 35th over when sections of crowd began to throw fruit and plastic bottles onto the field. The players left the field for 20 minutes in an attempt to quieten the crowd. When the players returned for play, more bottles were thrown onto the field and fires were lit in the stand. Match referee Clive Lloyd awarded the match to Sri Lanka, the first default ever in a Test or One Day International.
The Sri Lankans, coached by Dav Whatmore and captained by Arjuna Ranatunga

Sachin Tendulkar, the leading run scorer (531) in the tournament.
Anil Kumble, the leading wicket taker (15) in the tournament.

THIS is the history of ind v/s srilanka in world cup 1996.
